Adding Service Categories and Locations

To add service categories, you start from your WordPress admin dashboard.

  1. Go to Classified Listing 🡪 Categories and write the name of your preferred service, for instance, Cleaning.
  2. Back on your dashboard, click on Classified Listing 🡪 Listing Types and add the listing type as Service. Some listing types will have appeared here by default. If you don’t want to work with them, you can delete them easily and remain with Service.
  3. Go back to Classified Listing 🡪 Categories and create the category, such as Cleaning, clicking on the checkbox beside the newly appeared Service listing type.
  4. To add an icon for the category, click on Add Image 🡪 Browse and add the image you prefer to be your category icon.
  5. While on the Listing Categories page, repeat steps iii and iv to create new categories.

  4. Drag and drop the Pricing preset field and rename the section Service Pricing. The section will come with some preset options with checkboxes.
  5. Select the Pricing Unit option from under the Pricing preset field, which will give three options: per hour, day, or week.
  6. Click a new form section and title it Service Details with nothing but a large space for writing the Description.
  7. From the Preset Fields, drag and drop the Dropdown form field onto a new section, which you’ll rename as Service Info.
  8. You can then edit the first field under Service Info to name it, Availability. In its options, you can add durations, such as Same Day, One Day Notice, Two Day Notice, or anything else that suits your availability. 
  9.  Under the Availability field, add a new field and rename it as Warranty. Under its options, you can add options like Limited Warranty and Full Warranty.
  10. You can also add more Service Info fields from the Preset Fields, such as Images, Videos, Address (which can come with a map), and Tags.
  11. On the top right corner, click on the blue button that reads Save Form to save your custom form. Rename it Service Listing.
  12. Click on the Form List item at the top of your page and make this form the default by toggling the Default option button.

Repeat that entire process to create a different form.

How Users Add Their Services

Users can now add listings of their services to your website without bothering you, the admin. Here’s how as a user one would go about adding their service.

  1. On the top right corner of the website, click on the red Add Listing button.
  2. They can then add their details using the Service Listing form we created previously.
  3. Start by choosing Service as the Listing Type before choosing your Category, Service Title, Service Pricing, adding a Description of your service, Tags related to your service, your Availability, Images, Address, Contact Information, and Videos.
  1. Click on the Submit button at the bottom end of the form.
  2. Upon submission, the submitted service or business will appear on the listing archive page that reads All Ads and is accessible from the top menu of your website. Clicking on a specific ad will give you access to the Listing Details page.
